Valentines day origami hearts DIY

In our house we are getting ready to spread some love this Valentines day with these super easy origami hearts, my kids and I love to play and create with paper and these hearts are a great project to do together.

Keep reading for my full tutorial

All you need is some origami folding paper or you could cut some paper you already have
at home, cutting your paper 15cm by 15cm.

The paper I have used here is from Muji

First lay your paper face down like a diamond

Fold the bottom point up to top point making a firm crease in the middle.

Repeat from the left point to the right

Open and smooth out your paper, you should have two creases.

Bring the top point to the middle crease line

Now bring the bottom point up over to the top fold making sure that you smooth your crease down firmly

Next fold across the bottom right point up to the the top fold making sure that your new fold line runs along your original middle crease

Repeat with the left side, smooth down firmly along all folds

Turn over your heart and fold in the two side angles

To finish your heart fold down the two top angles touching each point along the top fold

Well done!

Now you can make some more to hang up your Valentine's garland.
