Nappies for nature

Reusable or disposable? I have to admit that I didn't even consider the first option with my eldest son.
Mostly because six years ago, I didn't come across reusable nappies in my local baby stores here in Italy.
It wasn't until a few months after the birth of my third child that I saw this picture of a store window display that I began to research the pros and cons and enviromental impact of both for example- disposable nappies take about 200 years to decompose and although reusable nappies don't create waste you have to wash them which can add to your carbon footprint.

In the end we decided to give reusable nappies a try. We use Pop in nappies, they look good and are super easy to put on and to wash, we have been using them for over a year now and I am still very happy with them.

Although you can use a heavier cloth insert during the night we choose to still use disposables also for convenience on weekend trips etc, I feel great about my choice but understand that for many reasons reusable nappies are not for everyone.

Here is a great article on disposable vs reusable nappies

How do you feel about reusable nappies?
